DEFINE ART GALLERY AND STUDIO invites submissions for their METALLIC MIRAGE ART EXHIBITION, providing artists with the opportunity to showcase their work either in the gallery or online throughout August and September 2024. This juried competition is open to 2D and 3D visual artists across the USA, seeking artwork that incorporates metal, is influenced by metal, or embodies a metallic essence for both physical and digital displays.
ACCEPTED ARTWORK:
The Metallic Mirage ART EXHIBITION at DEFINE ART GALLERY AND STUDIO invites submissions across various mediums and styles. The "Traditional" category embraces diverse 2D mediums such as painting, drawing, pastels, inks, pencil, printmaking, encaustic, fabric, and mixed media. For those inclined towards "Photography & Digital" art, avenues include analog and digital photography, digital photo artwork, painting, manipulations, collage, vector drawing, and mixed media. It's important to note that derivative digital works should demonstrate significant deviation from the original to be considered new. The gallery may request the original artwork to ensure compliance with copyright laws. In the realm of "3-Dimensional" art, creativity knows no bounds, with opportunities for relief, pottery, sculpture, installation, kinetic, and conceptual pieces crafted from metal, paper, wood, stone, fiber, plastics, glass, ceramics, or any other material suitable for 3-dimensional artistry. SORRY NO VIDEO, OR INSTALLATION WORKS ACCEPTED.

The deadline for Artwork submission is JULY 5, 2024 @ 11:59PM (US EASTERN TIME ZONE)
MAY 01, 2024 - Art Competition Opens
JULY 05, 2024 - Deadline for Entries
JULY 10, 2024 - Acceptance Notification Starts
JULY 26, 2024 – Artwork accepted to show in gallery delivered or received by (if shipping)
AUG. 02, 2024 – Exhibition Opening
SEPT. 27, 2024 – Exhibition Closed (online gallery archived)
SEPT 27, 2024 – Artwork pick up or shipped back to artists.
ENTRY FEES:
The entry fee per artwork is $35 USD. Our form allows for the submission of one artwork. If you wish to enter more than one artwork for consideration, please return to fill in your details and submit again, with each additional submission incurring a fee of $35 USD. The entry fee must be paid in full for your submission of works to be entered. All fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
SALES:
In the gallery, all sales transactions are exclusively handled within the gallery premises, with a commission split of 50/50 per artwork. However, for sales made through the online exhibit, transactions occur solely between the artist and the buyer. DEFINE Art Gallery does not facilitate or partake in any aspect of the online sales process, nor does it collect any commission for sales made through the online exhibition.
IMAGE REQUIREMENTS:
Files should be titled in the following format: Artist's Name, Art Title, Dimensions, Price (USD).
EXAMPLE: JohnBrown_Midnight_30x30x2_1750.
Image size should not exceed 2.0 MB in JPG format
Image should not contain any frame, mat, backgrounds, or watermark.
Image should be clear and in focus, this represents your work, and it will be displayed / judged the same way it is received.
Images that do not follow this format will not be considered for the juried competition.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
Our judges base the included artwork for exhibit on: originality, interpretation, quality of artwork and image, demonstration of artistic ability, and usage of medium.
ELIGIBILITY:
Artwork must be original creations of the artist and produced within the past five years.
Pieces that have previously won in Define Art Gallery competitions are ineligible for resubmission.
Artists must be at least 18 years of age.
There are no size requirement for artwork.
DELIVERY OF ARTWORK FOR GALLERY EXHIBITION (does not pertain to online exhibition):
The artist is responsible for covering shipping or delivery expenses to the gallery which should include insurance. The gallery is not responsible for any damages occurring during or after shipment or delivery of artwork. Artwork not picked up by the specified date will incur a holding fee of $5 per day. If an artist wishes to have their artwork shipped back to them after the exhibition concludes, they must provide a prepaid shipping return label.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USAGE RIGHTS:
The following terms and conditions outline the agreement between the artist and Define Art Gallery and Studio regarding the usage rights of submitted artwork:
- By submitting their artwork to any competition hosted on our website (defineartgallery.com), artists acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined herein.
- Define Art Gallery is authorized to utilize the submitted images solely for marketing, promotional, and display purposes related to competitions hosted on our website or within the gallery.
- The artist grants permission for Define Art Gallery to archive selected artwork as part of the exhibition, which will be publicly accessible for viewing on our website (defineartgallery.com).
- The artist retains all copyrights to any images they submit to Define Art Gallery.
- Submitted images shall not be resold or exchanged from the website. Any images displayed on the website or within the gallery may not be reproduced or used in any manner without explicit permission from Define Art Gallery and Studio and the respective artist.
All boxes in the application form must be completed and the boxed checked, for accepting the Terms and Conditions at the end of the form to proceed to payment.
